Our view:
2014 saw Martin Siegrist's Downhill Longboard Helmet, the TSG Pass, released into the wild.
Many of the #NewtonsFamily have been riding theirs since & to much praise.
The ventilation, fit & design have us & many other riders blown away, specially coming in way cheaper than the competition.

It's no secret that the Pass is the evolution of Martin's 2009 BA Thesis & it's come at an ideal time when TSG can step in with their production expertise.
Martin's confirmed the 2015 mold has been slightly tweaked, these will likely be subtle & we'll have to compare once we have some to hand.

Sizing & fit
There's no additional padding on the cranium for these, all adjust-ability is in the cheek padding.
For some people the cheeks might be too tight, if so, remove the foam from the pads & trim down then re-insert.
If loose on the cheeks then more foam can be added (provided)
1/3 people will need a size larger than they measure for.
If possible, come & try on a helmet (or a friend's) before committing to buy.

With the right size shell on your head & cheek pads in play, this helmet does not want to let go.
You might find it a bit tight on your skull as you put it on, but this helps keep the lid snug under/around your jawline: think about how your jaw is narrower than your skull.
The high nose & padding in the chin guard are there to help save your jaw/teeth/nose in the event of a crash, no other lid comes close.

Ratcheting system allows you to ride with the visor open either fully or at an angle without fear of it closing or opening when skating fast/riding transition.
The eye port's visor seam creates a seal with the shut visor, thus reducing wind drag & whistling noise at speed.

Exhalation blocker
Sitting in the chin guard, this horseshoe piece of foam creates a channel for you to exhale through, letting your hot breath out the bottom of the helmet.
Either make contact with the foam to create a seal, or remove it if you like.
Two different thickness'  of foam are provided, customize the distance as you like.

So we've covered your breathing with the exhalation blocker, but what a about an intake to offset body heat & humidity?!
Two ports around the nose allow for air intake, the ingenious part is the hard foam in the helmet features these grooves running from front to back, over your head.
So here's the route:
Air comes in though the "nose" ports
Up past the visor (goodbye fogging!)
Over the skull
Out the back

Safety Ratings:
CE EN 1078 - European bicycle helmet standard
CE EN 174 - European face shield standard
ASTM F1952 - International Downhill Mountain Bike Racing standard

From TSG:
Developed and engineered in conjunction with three-time world downhill skateboard champion and product designer Martin Siegrist, the new Pass longboard helmet is the last word in performance. The compact shell and its aerodynamic design allow for an unrestrained speed rush, while its CE certified construction let's you cut loose with confidence. The spherical curved visor with scratch-proof, anti-fog coating guarantees optimal peripheral vision. Nose vent ports together with a revolutionary exhalation fogging blocker above the mouth pushes exhaled breath down and out of the helmet, thereby supporting the anti-fogging design.

Fiberglass construction
Multi-layered glass fiber shell for a high ratio of surface area to weight resulting into a strong but light full-face helmet.

EPS Impact Foam
EPS features the constitutional properties of a cell. This lightweight impact foam combines high stability with great flexibility and thus offers good penetration resistance and energy distribution properties. EPS foam liners are the industry standard for action sports.

Nose Vent Ports

Exhalation Fogging Blocker
The exhalation-fogging-blocker positioned around the nose ensures that exhaled air doesn’t flow upwards, fogging up the visor. The fogging blocker is made of soft foam and is supplied in two sizes for optimum adaptation to different facial geometries.

Soft liner that can be removed for washing
