Our view:
We only have a photo of Carver's newest Surfskate truck to go by, but what we can see already means great news.
The hangers are clearly the CX.4 front and C2.4 rear, but there's a chance they are narrower than the 6.5" CX.4, possible 5" wide given the name.
The most interesting part is actually the baseplates, which are notably lower than the CX.4 set, this makes the ride height lower / easier to push.
But what brings it all together are the lower height bushings, which limits the range of motion.

Overall, we're likely looking at the replacement for the CX.3 5" Mini.

Which is long overdue to be honest, the performance and turning fluidity of the CX.4 C2.4 design is light years ahead of the CX.3 design.

In summary, what this C5 truck set will offer is a smooth turn, with a lower ride height and a more controllable turning radius than the CX.4
This is because it's aimed at more traditional skateboard usage, where wheels are smaller, thus the possibility to reduce baseplate height and turning radius.

We're stoked to try to these out in bowls, slalom and of course downhill sliding.

From Carver:
Skateboarders have invented many great tricks since the early days, and a truly modern surfskate needs to incorporate this history of progression.

And so the C5 System (C5 front, C4 rear) is shorter and narrower, lowering the center of gravity and giving the tail more pop. You get higher ollies, and better control. And the narrower hanger and deck keep it light and maneuverable.

This is the next generation of surfskate, blending tricks and flow into a complex, creative expression across the urban landscape.

We’ve made two completes with an equally versatile street board mold made to give you the best of both worlds.
